Loose Leaf Luxury Tea

Orange Blossom Oolong is a wonderful combination of a high grown Oolong from the Tungting region in Taiwan, an exquisite Ceylon Tea from Sri Lanka, Jasmine petals and naturally dried orange peel. Together they create a truly magical taste experience, one that can be explored through multiple infusions.

Oolong teas have always been taken seriously by those who are serious about tea and can be infused several times, giving a soft, fruity, pale amber liquor with a honeyed character. The hand-rolled leaves create a mix of sweetness & tangy-ness, with a warming orange finish. This tea has all the distinct earthy notes of an oolong yet it is light and refreshing.

This oolong makes a beautiful iced tea. Just brew a pot with a teaspoon of honey, leave to cool then serve with ice and an extra slice of orange.

How Compassion is working in Sri Lanka

When a flash flood washed Thalasamma’s home away, she was determined to keep smiling. This 72-year-old widow from Sri Lanka didn’t expect to be raising children in her old age; however, when her granddaughters were abandoned by their parents, she knew she had to step in.

As a widow with no trade, Thalasamma had no option but to beg on the streets. It was then that Pastor Nishanta, director of a local Compassion project, noticed her infectious smile.

“I have to be happy for my grandchildren who are the only joy in my life right now,” she told him. He decided to register the girls into the Compassion project right then and there.

With school fees, meals, health check-ups and toiletries all provided, the family enjoyed a few worry-free years.

Then the storm struck. Within a few hours everything was gone. But Thalasamma didn’t lose hope. Compassion’s church partner provided food, water and shelter and even secure funds to rebuild homes.

Within a couple of weeks, Thalasamma had a sturdy, concrete home complete with a toilet – a luxury she’d never had before.
